If you are on the lookout for a recipe that creates cake-like brownies, your search is over!
My household requires brownies on a pretty much regular basis, we’re talking at least making a batch every 2 weeks. My husband prefers cake-like brownies (usually served hot under some scoops of ice cream) and I prefer a more traditional almost gooey brownies (served with a glass of milk). And since I am the one that makes them, I also like a recipe that has ingredients I always have on hand and doesn’t call for special chocolate, espresso, or other ingredients.
A couple of years ago, I found a recipe on Pinterest of course, that seemed like the perfect fit for our needs and I couldn’t have been happier with the taste or how quickly it came together. I thought I had found “the one” that was until my husband decided to ask me a month ago for cake-like brownies, brownies that were fluffier and not so dense. He’s the type of person that loves cake without icing. My first thought and reply was of course, “wouldn’t that just be cake?” But, I decided to do a little research and much to my avail, I couldn’t find a recipe that would satisfy his request but would also not be cake and still resemble a brownie. I decided to use a cake recipe and the brownie recipe I so adored to come up with a hybrid brownie. It turned out ok, but was to much like a cake for me, took almost an hour to bake and honestly did not remind me of a brownie at all. I was so disappointed, he didn’t say he loved it but also didn’t say he hated it, however unlike our usual brownies, this batch did not disappear quickly and since I was not a fan, there were still “brownies” left over that no one ate after a full week. Needless to say, I went back to usual recipe. for a couple of weeks.
This week, I decided to try again at making quick and easy cake-like brownies and I couldn’t be happier with the results! I think I may have a keeper this time around; give it a try you won’t be disappointed they are delicious!
